During a visit to the GESTE projects in Oaxaca, Mexico, co-CEO Steffen Müller was able to see the progress and impact of the GESTE projects ISKALI, DigiCoop, and Al Chaz firsthand. While touring a family business producing the famous Mezcal, the visitor was even allowed to lend a hand, getting a vivid impression of the largely manual and sweat-inducing production process.

The small-scale Mezcal producers are all members of the rural savings and credit cooperative San Dionisio and benefit multiple times from the foundation's projects: through the ISKALI project platform, their products will soon be marketed collectively, and with the new DigiCoop banking app, they now have direct access to their accounts and financial services—no longer needing to travel the often long distance to the nearest branch. And at the village school, children learn about finance and economics using the Al Chaz financial education app.
