Student Cooperatives in South America: "Creamos juntos cooperativas"

Fostering Student Cooperatives as an Educational Tool
The GESTE project promotes the establishment of student cooperatives in Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile as an educational tool. Through training, cooperative awareness is created among students and teachers. Primary and secondary schools in rural areas, as well as special education schools, participate in the project in collaboration with local cooperatives.
Key project partners are the cooperatives from the Argentine town of Sunchales, considered the country's cooperative capital, and the cooperative insurance company SANCOR from Argentina, which finances 10,000 euros of the project costs.
The project started in early 2023. Cooperation agreements were first made with cooperatives and schools in Argentina and Paraguay. After training the multipliers, project advisors, and teachers, the goal is to establish four student cooperatives in Argentina and at least two student cooperatives in each of the other project countries.
